Teachers and students, please wear jeans and/or red, white, and blue in honor of our veterans, today, May 24. Donations will be accepted up until Friday.

8th Grade Students-The Baldwin Award is presented to the boy and girl with the greatest point score for participation in interscholastic sports, plus points earned in academic achievement. 8th grade students interested in applying can pick up a copy of the application from the main office. Please see Ms. Lazirko with any questions.

Track will have a Pizza Party on Thursday, May 24th from 2:45-3:30.  Please bring a $1.

8th Grade Parents:  This is a reminder that the students went home with their gowns last week.  Please hang them up to let the wrinkles fall out.  The gowns cannot be ironed only steamed.

Central is recycling toner/ink cartridges.  If you have any, please send them to the Main Office.

The SPORT Spring Clothing Drive starts May 21st and runs until May 31st. Donations may be dropped off during school hours at the Central Middle School office. Please see the SPORT Clothing Drive flyer 
for more information on what is being collected.

6th Grade Parents:  Medieval day is on June 7th.  Please see the attached flyer for costume ideas and volunteer opportunities.

SUMMER Band and Orchestra - Music Camp (More info will be in the Friday Flyers)
The paperwork has already been approved by the sending district and High School Administrations.
The PTO Sending district Summer Band Program will be back…..please keep this in mind as you schedule your children’s activities for the summer. The LHTPTO- sponsored Summer Band Program will be held this year at Central School in Stirling from June 25th – July 19th.It is open to grades 3-12. Beginners will have a lesson and a theory class each day. Intermediate (completed 1 full year) and Advanced (2+) will have a band rehearsal and a lesson each day. There is also an 8-12 H.S. Ensemble and two Jazz Bands. We recently added a 2nd/ 3rd grade all music class. We cover many musical activities. The program runs two three and four weeks to accommodate family vacation schedules. The program is staffed by six area district music teachers.  The 10 day price is $265.00 and the 11-18 day price is $315.00. Flyers are out now and questions should be directed to Eileen Shanagher at eshanagher@longhill.org. We are extremely flexible with our schedule and hope that the children will come as many days as they are able. They do not need to be consecutive days. It is a great way to keep up your skills. The daily musical help benefits each student in so many ways. Beginners learn their instrument so quickly over the summer. We hope to see you there!!!
Mr. Birckhead has put together a wonderful video that explains our summer camp and the updated details. Both the instrumental forms as well as the 2nd/3rd grade All Music Class are attached. NEW this year is the Ukulele class’s grades 4-12.
Please text, call or email me with your questions. We want everyone to attend and I will help you determine the classes that are best for you. We are very flexible with our schedules. Please invite all of your friends to the concert on July 18th at 10:00 AM. It will be another amazing performance.

Food Days
Food Days is an optional lunch program sponsored by the PTO (and SPORT at Central). Students are given the opportunity to order food items from local vendors to be served on Food Days by volunteers. The selections include pizza, bagels, soups, salads, sandwiches and more!
